We are excited to announce our new weight loss option, Semaglutide. Semaglutide is ideal for patients who have a considerable amount of weight to lose (50lbs or more) and is a powerful appetite suppressant.
Obesity is a heterogeneous disease with many different causes, and what helps one person lose weight may not work well for another person.
People who are trying to lose weight have a new option called Semaglutide (Wegovy) which is FDA approved.
Semaglutide slows down gastrointestinal motility, which helps us feel full, and acts on appetite centers in the brain to decrease hunger.
Semaglutide is a once-weekly injectable prescription medicine used for adults with a diagnosis of obesity (BMI ≥30) or overweight (excess weight) (BMI ≥27) (who also have weight-related medical problems) to help them lose weight and keep it off.
This treatment may not be suitable for those who have the following:
•History of pancreatitis
•Personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma
•Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2
